The penetration of water through open cracks is probably the major cause of pavement failure.  Once the sub-base is compromised, pavement failure is inevitable.  When those compromised areas begin to “alligator,” an expensive repair is necessary.

Richland Sealcoating uses only high performance hot-pour rubberized crack sealant and we make sure that the cracks are properly prepared.

1) We use a high temperature blast of air from a heat lance to clean and dry the crack.

2) Once the sealant is melted in one of our double oil jacketed melters, it is applied to the crack in a neat 3 inch wide band and allowed to cool before accepting traffic.

3) A properly filled crack. Saving your asphalt from further deterioration.
